DONOR QUESTIONS & SUPPORT

EVERY DONATION SUPPORTS A MISSION,
 A FAMILY, OR A FUTURE.

Why is the campaign seeking donations?

Carbondale Elementary School District #95 received federal funding to begin its transition to a full-service community schools model. That funding ended earlier than anticipated, after approximately $1.2 million of the original five-year $5 million award had been received. The campaign seeks $500,000 in bridge funding to protect the progress already underway during the 2026–2027 school year while the district develops a sustainable, diversified funding model.

Donations will help sustain four areas of work already underway:

  • Extended learning opportunities to support literacy
  • Student and family support
  • Community school coordination and partnerships
  • Development of a sustainable, long-term funding model

Yes. CES95 receives public and federal funding for its core educational responsibilities. However, district funding does not fully replace the federal grant resources that supported the expansion and coordination of the community schools initiative. Private gifts provide temporary bridge support for services, partnerships, and infrastructure that might otherwise be reduced or interrupted.

Donors may indicate an area of interest, such as literacy, student and family support (Health, Vision, Housing, Food) or community school coordination. Designated gifts will be honored whenever possible and consistent with the campaign’s charitable purposes. If a particular need has been fully funded or can no longer be carried out, the foundation may contact the donor or direct the gift to the area of greatest need within the campaign.

CES95 Community School Collaborative will provide regular campaign and impact updates, including services supported, students and families reached, partnership growth, and relevant financial information. Updates will be shared through the campaign website and district communications.

Yes. Donors may select a recurring giving option on the donation form. Monthly gifts provide reliable support and help the campaign plan services throughout the year. Donors may contact the foundation if they need to change or discontinue a recurring gift.

Yes. Donations made through the Carbondale Education Foundation (or Community Schools Collaborative- not sure which name to use) are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors will receive a contribution acknowledgment for their records.
